Photographing children is sooo much better in the natural environment at home or even at a park than it is in a static studio. It brings out a child’s personality and yes, sometimes their inner Diva attitudes and they can have loads more fun and laughs than sitting in a stuffy studio and forcing out those cheesy grins… you know the sort… “Everybody smile”.

Beth and her little sister Georgia love having fun and definitely enjoyed playing up for the camera which makes childrens portraits great fun to photograph for a professional portrait photographer. It’s great to photograph kids having enjoying themselves and messing around. Even something as simple as running towards the camera and asking them to jump! Or sitting on a swing or playing Peekaboo! can produce some really happy and fun photos and of course a couple of ‘Moody.. Look at us’ pics.

You can get great shots in Autumn/Winter, last year I was asked to photograph three siblings, William, Robert and Ellie who were more interested in playing in the garden than having their photo taken. So, what do you do? That’s easy… just let them get on with it, photographing kids playing games and doing few funky poses can be great fun. This worked great, they enjoyed themselves, we had loads of laughs and Mum and Dad got some fab shots!.
