Lifestyle Family Portraits

A few weeks ago we had a family lifestyle portrait session and it was a fantastic day for me and Chloe, the weather was gorgeous as we headed over to Alrewas, Staffordshire for a family portrait session that included 7 adults, 5 children and 3 dogs !  I love these lifestyle portraits especially when everybody was having so much fun, the children were playing and we were photographing everything that was happening, including the dogs (which we couldn’t keep out of the canal)  icon smile Lifestyle Family Portraits

I’ve picked just a few photos out from the day to blog……hope you enjoy them

Lifestyle Portraits Moira Furnace, Leicestershire

I know, it’s been a while, I am seriously neglecting my blog but things have got sooo busy here…. My lifestyle portraits are getting very popular especially with the run-up to Christmas.

Lindsey contacted me to arrange a full family portrait session at Moira Furnace, Leicestershire.  There was Lindsey and her husband, her Mum, three sons and Lindseys daughter who bought along her partner and their daughter. Despite the cold weather we had loads of fun and they definitely kept me and my second shooter, Chloe on our toes.   We got some great shots and some really different photos too! the lads were messing around and having fun and this just kept everything relaxed and natural which is the best way to shoot portraits.

We got so many variations of photographs that it was really hard for me to just pull a few of them out to blog but I’ve kept it to a minimum for you, just to show you how we keep things natural and relaxed during our family portrait sessions.

Enjoy…….

Natural Family Portraits in Derbyshire

Here’s a completely different style of portrait shoot for you to look through – I’m calling it my farming portrait shoot..  When Rachael called me and we discussed exactly what kind of lifestyle portraits she was looking for, I knew it was going to be a big shoot so took along my husband Dave and also Chloe came along for a bit of experience.  This was a farming family and wanted their portraits to show their personalities and their day to day lifestyle in a completely natural way.

They started off with a bit of shooting, then the dogs got involved and even the cows came over for a nosey!  At which point Chloe nearly ran off!!  After a while Rachael got changed into her wedding dress, and really didn’t mind it getting dirty when we posed her with her Springer Spaniel – after all, that’s what they wanted.  And of course Jem in her beautiful Communion dress and she was more than happy to sit in the woods with the dogs.

This portrait session really shows the whole meaning of lifestyle portrait photography as we had a brilliant day there was a lot of messing about, loads of fun and a lot of laughs.  The family love these photos as it really does capture them naturally, doing what they love with just a little bit of quirky and funky stuff thrown in for good measure.

As you can imagine there were so many photos to choose from to put on the blog I was struggling not to put them all up here so I’ve chosen a few of my favourites….    Enjoy…..

Children’s Lifestyle Portrait

I was recently asked to do a portrait session little Kenzie at his home in Coalville, Leicestershire and had been forewarned that he doesn’t look at the camera.  No matter what anybody did, this little lad moved way too fast to get a photo of his face, by the time his friends and family were ready to take his photo, he was off!!  Running around the garden and doing the things that little boys are really good at like getting muddy. :-0

I have a few tricks up my sleeve and just let little Kenzie play – He played football, he played in the water fountain and he even played at throwing stones in the air but he was way too busy playing to notice I was photographing.   Who says you can’t get photos of him looking at the camera?icon smile Childrens Lifestyle Portrait

Needless to say his family are over the moon with his portraits and we had loads of fun doing them.   Here are a few of my favourites…  Enjoy….
